The microphone stays on while this screen is open.
Recording stops when the screen locks or you switch apps.
Input
The meter shows the level after the gain. Gain added here also raises the noise; set the mic's own gain first if it has one.
You hear yourself with a delay. Use headphones. A USB mic's own headphone jack has no delay.
Use wired or USB-C headphones; AirPods and other Bluetooth headphones add about 150 to 250 ms. The effects are heard only through this page, not through a USB mic's own headphone jack.
Effects
You hear the effects through Monitor on this page. A USB mic's own headphone jack plays the mic without them.
Turn Monitor on to hear the effects while you record.
The take is recorded without the effects. They are added to the file when you save it, so you can change them later.
A change made while recording applies to the whole take in the saved file.
If the monitor crackles, turn the octave or the reverb off. When the device is this busy, the take can lose sound too.
Click
With the click or a backing track on, a take is lined up to bar 1. The count-in is recorded too, outside the trim: move the start handle to keep a note sung before bar 1. The 5 seconds before the tap are not kept.
Backing track
None. A WAV, MP3 or M4A file, or a zip with one audio file inside (such as a take from the rig's Monitors).
Use headphones, so the backing track is not recorded. The backing track plays from Start at when bar 1 begins, and the take is saved lined up with it. The file name and start point are saved with the take.
Timing
With the click or a backing track, each take is moved earlier by the delay between the page playing a sound and the mic hearing it, so it lines up with bar 1.
Measure the delay: hold the headphones against the mic (or connect the interface's output to its input) and tap the button. The page plays 8 clicks, listens for them, and sets Timing adjust.

Monitor sends the microphone to the headphones, so you can hear the effects while you record. Use wired or USB-C headphones. AirPods and other Bluetooth headphones add about 150 to 250 ms, which you will hear. Without headphones the microphone picks up the sound from the speaker and howls.
Input:
Headphones with a microphone on the cable can become the input. Check the input name above, and choose the iPhone microphone here if needed.
